We had Mackenzie's 6 month well visit today. Mackenzie's is doing great and making both us and the doctor's proud. She is on the charts for her length and head circumference but is still working on gaining that weight. We were told today that we are not to start any cereal or solids until she is consistently eating 8oz and looking for more. She averages about 5oz at each feeding now. So, we'll continue with formula until her appetite picks up.
Height: 24" (5.13%)
Weight: 11 lbs 3 oz (0.24%)
Head Circumference: 15.98" (7.17%)
Our next appointment isn't until 9 months, August 23rd, and she will be happy to know that there will be no vaccinations given at this appointment! Hip Hip Hooray!
So, what else is she up to you ask? Well....she is "talking" up a storm and really discovering her voice and using those lungs. She is smiling a lot and even doing some giggling. She is an extremely happy baby. On average, she sleeps from 7pm-5am and takes about three 1 hour naps during the day (sometimes more and sometimes less). She is very curious and prefers to be held in a position where she can see everything or on her play mat where she can observe everything around her. She hasn't quite rolled over yet. But, she seems closer to rolling from back to belly (which is apparantly harder than going from belly to back). We are going to concentrate on working with her on her belly more. She doesn't particularly care for tummy time, so it's tough to get in more than 5 minutes at a time.
Andy and I couldn't be happier. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful little girl in our life. And she truly makes it easy.....so easy that we are afraid what would come next (if and when that happens).
